MATLAB is a platform-independent software for solving mathematical problems and graphically displaying the results. It is designed for calculations with matrices, which is where the name comes from: MATrix LABoratory.
Matlab and Simulink, one of many toolboxes, provide an integrated development environment for engineering calculations and simulations.
MATLAB offers comprehensive functionality for mathematical calculations and visualization, as well as a powerful programming language.
Simulink is a graphical, block-oriented development platform for modeling, simulation, and analysis of dynamic, nonlinear, and event-driven systems.
So-called classroom licenses are also offered by the supplier for use in teaching.
