Description
At OVGU, OpenProject is available in the Enterprise Edition (Basic) as a central, web-based platform for project management. It is operated on-premise on the university's server infrastructure, which ensures a high level of data security and complete control over project-related information. The platform supports both traditional and agile methods and is aimed at all university employees.
The optional BIM extension enables model-based work, especially in planning and construction projects, and extends the range of applications to include the display and linking of IFC models with tasks.

- Project planning with Gantt charts, milestones and dependencies
- Task and workflow management with structured ticket tracking
- Support for agile methods (e.g. Kanban, Scrum)
- BIM functionality: model-based work with IFC files (optional)
- Central project communication and document storage
- Time and expense recording, budget overviews
- Role and rights management to control access rights
- Integration in Nextcloud: direct access to project-related files in Nextcloud for sharing and storing documents within projects
Framework conditions for use:
University employees can create and manage projects independently. This is not intended for students. However, they can be added as project members and actively participate in existing projects. The use of groups within OpenProject is possible, but requires the prior creation of corresponding group assignments by a data processing officer or local administrator via the central user administration. The integration of guests is generally possible, but requires a valid university account.
