Server virtualization

A virtual data center based on “VMware Virtual Infrastructure” was set up across several locations. The use of this virtualization technology reduces IT costs by increasing efficiency, flexibility and responsiveness. The storage systems for the virtual machines are mirrored synchronously across both locations. This increases reliability (climate, power).

In a virtual infrastructure, server resources can be allocated to changing requirements without physical conversion. The IT organizations can provide new virtual servers and services quickly and flexibly and adapt the resource allocation to the business process at any time. The virtual data center becomes a uniform resource pool for processing, storage and network performance. The operation of this cluster enables virtually uninterrupted operation through online allocation of virtual servers and the associated services.
