Information about the OVGU-Cloud

Thanks to the OVGU Cloud, we now provide you with a location-independent storage area for your data. The OVGU Cloud synchronizes personal data such as files, music and photos on several end devices. The web interface also includes a photo gallery and an integrated PDF viewer. The included editor makes it possible to edit texts together with others and supports programming work through syntax highlighting. The OVGU Cloud is your free and open-source alternative to the well-known cloud storage services such as Dropbox and Co.

Data protection

All data is stored on OVGU storage media. Only selected employees of the URZ have administrative access.

CollaboraOffice integration

CollaboraOffice is a free office suite (word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software) that has recently been integrated into the OVGU cloud and can be used online.

One of the biggest advantages of CollaboraOffice is the ability to work on a shared file together at the same time. All editors see the latest version of the file synchronously..

Further information

When setting the directories to be synchronized, please note that synchronization with a local desktop client can take some time with large amounts of data and a narrow-band connection.

Please note that sharing a folder with an internal or external person is only possible with the OVGU-Cloud web portal.
