KMS
For the licensing and activation of Microsoft Office and Windows, the University Computing Center uses a Key Management Server (KMS in short). This server activates your Office or Windows product, which you have purchased through the university.
All supported Windows and Office versions can be activated.
In order to activate your Windows or Office license, we need to know your IP subnet beforehand in order to approve you for the service. To do this, we need an Email from you stating your IP subnet and any proof of the license you have purchased. The Email should be sent to it-service@ovgu.de.
License servers for applications
License servers for "shared" applications are operated at the URZ. The licenses must be requested from the central software procurement office in the URZ via the "DV-Beauftragten" of the structural unit. The access parameters for the use of the software are obtained from the procurement office after the licenses have been purchased.
