Authentication

The data center operates a Kerberos authentication service. There the accounts and passwords of university members are maintained. Kerberos (version 5) for UNIX authentication as well as Kerberos ADDS for Windows authentication are available.

The service can be used by all university applications. The users have the following big benefit: only one access for different services. However, the applications must be Kerberos-compatible.

For web applications the computer centre offers the Shibboleth SSO System.

For authentication and authorization for web applications and web services, the computer centre offers a so-called Single-Sign-on (SSO) system from Shibboleth.
